Scripture Truth
Job 36:18 "Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with
his stroke;
then a great ransom cannot deliver thee." Matthew 20:28 "Even the Son of
Man
came not to be ministered unto, but to minister (serve) and to give his
life, a ran-
som for many. I Timothy 25 "For there is one God, and one mediator
between God
an men, the man Christ Jesus. V: 6 who gave himself a ransom for all, to
be testi-
fied in due time. "The meaning of the word ransom means deliver by paying a
price, to rescue, to release. The word ransom is in the bible 13 times,
ransomed 3
times. God tells us that; "he delivered Israel from Egyptian bondage and
slavery,
by the blood of the Passover lamb." We read in I Corinthians 5:7 "For
even Christ
our Passover is sacrificed for us." We owed a debt we could not pay;
Christ paid
a debt he did not owe. The poet wrote: "The blood of Jesus ransomed me, he
paid my debt and set me free; wher're I go the world shall know, the
blood of
Jesus ransomed me." - Maggie E. Gregory. Many people have paid a great
price
to have a loved one ransomed, but none can compare with the one Christ
paid for
us, to be delivered from the bondage, and slavery of sin, and death.
May I ask you a question - have you trusted Christ as your Saviour?
And can you say the blood of Jesus ransomed me?
