Evangelical work in Sudan

Report of the brethren Ministry in Sudan from February through April 2005 Revival Meeting:

In February we had a great evangelical revival with Brother Zakaria Estawro from Egypt. There were about 450 persons in attendance. During the revival different groups started prayer meetings while other groups were assigned to invite people to attend the meetings. The revival was broadcast live on the Internet, and more than 1000 persons form different countries listened to it especially Arabic speaking people from around the world.

Our bookshop was opened during this revival and many people bought books and tapes.

Christian religion classes: In the governmental schools here in Sudan, there are no Christian religion classes. All the students gather in some schools twice a week for the Christian religion classes.

Some of our brothers participate in teaching the subject of Christian Pedagogy to a great number of students (approximately 1300 students) twice a week. Many laboring brothers participate as well in the same work. About 550 students attended a revision class in Khartoum North. The Lord used brother David Abdallah to preach the Gospel to them. Salvation tracts were distributed as well.

Many of these students continue to attend our meetings and have joined the Christian Spiritual Principle Facts Course. The Basic Christian Spiritual Facts Course:

Twenty students spent four hours per week for three months participating in the Basic Christian Spiritual Facts course. They studied different topics, including Sin, Salvation, Baptism, the Bible, How to Pray, Fasting, The Lord's Table, The Assembly , Christian religion class in Khartoum North, The Second Coming of Christ, The Judgment Seat of Christ and other topics. The students were given a syllabus containing two hundred questions. At the end they were given a four hours multiple choice questions exam. After they graduated, they celebrated with songs. Certificates were given to each for encouragement. Two of them demonstrated how they will teach others some of the lessons that they studied in the course. It is with joy and thankfulness that we inform you that five of these students have joined us recently at the Lord's table.

We are grateful to the Lord for a new class of the students. Fifteen men and women have joined this new class.
